These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and responsibilities governing the use of our handyman and decorating services. By booking or using our services, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

  • “Company” refers to Adams Technology Limited, the provider of handyman and decorating services.
  • “Customer” refers to any individual, business, or organisation engaging the Company for services.
  • “Services” refers to any work carried out by the Company, including but not limited to painting, decorating, repairs, installations, and general handyman tasks.

2. Scope of Work

  • All services will be carried out as agreed verbally or in writing, either via email, quotation, or signed agreement.
  • Any changes to the scope of work must be confirmed in writing and may result in additional charges.
  • The Company reserves the right to refuse additional work not previously agreed upon or that falls outside its expertise or safety standards.

3. Quotations and Pricing

  • All quotations are free and valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
  • Prices are based on the information provided by the Customer at the time of quotation. If additional work is required due to unforeseen circumstances, the Company will notify the Customer and provide a revised quote.
  • VAT will be clearly stated and included in the final price.

4. Payment Terms

  • For jobs exceeding £300, a deposit of up to 50% may be required before work commences.
  • Full payment is due within 48 hours of job completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, debit/credit card, or cash.
  • Late payments may incur interest at 1.5% per day, and the Company reserves the right to suspend further work until payment is received.

5. Cancellation Policy

  • Customers must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a booking.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled start time may incur a fee of up to 25% of the quoted price to cover lost time and expenses.
  • The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, equipment failure, or adverse weather conditions.

6. Customer Responsibilities

  • The Customer is responsible for ensuring safe and unobstructed access to the work area.
  • All personal items, valuables, and fragile objects should be removed prior to the start of work.
  • The Company is not liable for damage to items left in the work area or for delays caused by restricted access.

7. Liability and Disclaimer

  • The Company will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with industry standards.
  • However, the Company shall not be held liable for:
    • Accidental damage to property or belongings unless caused by gross negligence.
    • Damage resulting from pre-existing structural issues, poor workmanship by third parties, or substandard materials.
    • Issues arising from mould, damp, or fungal growth, especially where underlying causes are not addressed.
    • Delays or damages caused by acts of God, theft, vandalism, or other events beyond our control.
  • Customers are advised to maintain appropriate home or business insurance to cover any potential risks.

8. Materials and Equipment

  • Materials supplied by the Company remain its property until paid for in full.
  • If the Customer supplies materials, the Company is not responsible for their suitability or performance.
  • The Company is not liable for delays caused by backordered, defective, or unavailable materials.

9. Health & Safety

  • The Company adheres to all relevant UK health and safety regulations.
  • The Customer must inform the Company of any known hazards, such as asbestos, electrical faults, or structural weaknesses.
  • The Company reserves the right to stop work if conditions are deemed unsafe.

10. Complaints and Disputes

  • Any complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days of job completion.
  • The Company will investigate and aim to resolve complaints promptly and fairly.
  • If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be referred to mediation or arbitration, in accordance with UK consumer law.

11. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Updates to Terms

  • The Company reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
  • Customers will be notified of significant changes via email or website notice.
